Serverless architecture

A cloud model for executing code (e.g. functions) in which the provider fully manages the servers, operating system and their patching, while the customer writes only the application code. It reduces the attack surface because the customer no longer maintains or exposes servers or operating systems, eliminating an entire class of vulnerabilities tied to their patching and configuration.
