Virtual private network / IPsec (VPN) VPN

A technology that creates an encrypted tunnel over an insecure network; a remote access VPN connects an individual user to the network, while a site-to-site VPN permanently links two locations. In IPsec, AH (Authentication Header) provides integrity and authenticity without encryption, while ESP (Encapsulating Security Payload) additionally encrypts and thereby ensures data confidentiality.
