Next-generation firewall (NGFW) NGFW

An advanced firewall that, on top of classic port and address filtering, adds application awareness (Layer 7), deep packet inspection, an integrated IPS and user control. It enables more detailed policies than a traditional firewall, e.g. allowing one application while blocking another within the same port.
