Enterprise infrastructure

Demilitarized zone / screened subnet (DMZ) DMZ

A special network zone placed between the internal network and the internet that holds publicly accessible servers (e.g. web, email, DNS). If an attacker breaks through a server in the DMZ, they still have to overcome an additional firewall to reach the internal network.
