Open-source intelligence (OSINT) OSINT

The gathering and analysis of information from publicly available sources such as the web, social networks, public registers and DNS records. It is used by attackers for reconnaissance of a target, by defenders through threat intelligence, and by penetration testers in the reconnaissance phase.
