Tabletop exercise

A paper-based discussion in which the team verbally walks through a hypothetical incident and their roles, without touching real systems, making it cheap and fast. In contrast, a simulation actually runs the scenario against the technology (for example a fake phishing campaign), which tests the defense more realistically at greater cost and risk.
