Identity and access management (IAM)

Single Sign-On (SSO) SSO

A mechanism that lets a user sign in once and then access many applications without re-entering credentials, relying on an identity provider (IdP) that issues a token and a service provider (SP) that accepts that token. Unlike SSO within a single organization, federation links SSO across different organizations that trust each other.
