Threat actors and vectors

Pretexting (fabricated scenario)

A social engineering technique in which the attacker builds a convincing made-up story and identity in advance in order to extract data or an action from the victim. An example is a call in which the attacker poses as IT support that urgently needs a password for a supposed upgrade.
