Threat actors and vectors

Threat actor motivation

The reason an attacker acts, for example financial gain, espionage, hacktivism, revenge, warfare or personal satisfaction. A financially motivated attacker seeks a quick payoff (e.g. ransomware), while a nation-state actor stays hidden for long-term theft of information.
